The crop of smartwatch which arrived in 2016 didn’t delivered impressive performance. Fossil, Apple, Garmin, Samsung or Huawei – their android wear devices offered varied features including tougher body, the best sunlight legibility screen, built-in bluetooth and GPS. But none of these could allure the market trends to their favor.
The year 2017 seems to be a promising year for smart wear devices. Google’s android platform for smartwatches named Android Wear 2.0 is slated for February 9 release. The newest platform is being launched with LG’s two different smart watches – Sport and Style which will be compatible to iOS as well. Soon Google will launch its own smartwatch on the same platform.
After speculations hit the market in July 2016 that Google is going to launch its latest platform for smart wearable, the year didn’t saw this big release. Now after Google has officially sent announcement letters to all the developers, every eye has turned to witness this eager release. The existing smart wearable of Google android wear platform will also get the upgrade, which includes – Moto 360 Sport and Gen 2, LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition LTE, LG Watch Urbane, LG G Watch R; Polar M600, Casio Smart Outdoor Watch, Nixon Mission, Tag Heuer Connected, Fossil Q Wander, Fossil Q Marshal, Fossil Q Founder, Michael Kors Access Bradshaw Smartwatch, Michael Kors Access Dylan Smartwatch, Huawei Watch, Huawei Watch Ladies, Asus ZenWatch 2 and Asus ZenWatch 3.
Talks of Google’s upcoming smartwatches are doing rounds that the two watches are code named Angelfish and Swordfish. Angelfish is said to have a larger 43.5 mm dial, a heart rate sensor, LTE, GPS and Titanium finish. These will also have in-app billing, application could be download direct from Play store and swipe to dismiss action.
