Gadget Review: Huawei’s SWAG phone Honor 6x

The Chinese Multinational Telecommunication Giant has now launched a smartphone to match the ‘SWAG’ of Indian market. Yes, you heard it right. Huawei is branding its Honor 6x as the SWAG phone and it is now available with the price tag of Rs. 12,999 and Rs. 15,999. Although we have a collection of smartphone in the same category, but Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is taken as the toughest competitors by tech pundits. Let’s take a look on what exclusive features these two Honor 6x variants (3 GB RAM-32 GB ROM/ 4 GB RAM-64 GB ROM) has to offer –

The all metal body and curved edges – this phone will never slip through your grip. Like other companions in the category, it offers 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, 5.5 inch HD display. The anti-reflective display angle and dual camera setup makes it steps away from crowd. However, the Vivo v5 plus has better dual camera setup – 20 MP and 8 MP when compared to Honor’s 12 MP and 2 MP. You can also capture smart pictures with out-of-focus blur effect. To please the crazy food shutterbugs, the Honor 6x comes loaded with good food shooting mode along with monochrome, HDR, pro-photo and Beauty modes. There is a fingerprint sensor just below the rear camera, which also functions as shutter release button.

It is backed by i5 co-processor and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Following Telecom Ministry’s guidelines, it will also have 14 languages support. The 3340 mAh battery is claimed to give a backup for more than one day! We want to take a moment to applaud for the excellent 16nm CPU and power saving technology devised in Honor 6x.

The main concern is the hybrid SIM slots. It carries only 2 slots, which means you can either go for dual SIM or single SIM and one memory card combination.
